Born and raised in Prince George, BC, Karmjeet Manhas is a proud husband, father, and a true lifetime martial artist. He isn’t just the owner of Kaiten Mixed Martial Arts Academy; he is the architect of Northern BC’s premier fight culture. With over 25 years of experience, Karm has evolved from a high school competitor into a National Champion, a business owner, and a world-class Black Belt. His mission is simple: To provide the highest level of technical instruction in a safe, family oriented environment. When you step onto the mats at Kaiten, you are training under a man who has dedicated his life to mastering every aspect of combat.

🥋 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Grappling , Black Belt awarded by 5-Time World BJJ & MMA Champion Bibiano Fernandes. Trained directly under UFC veteran, UFC Judge, 3 black belts, National KOTC Champion and 3rd Degree Black Belt Bill Mahood (PG Fight Club/Flash Academy). Blue Belt under Kyle Cardinal, known as the “Father of BJJ in Edmonton” (who has coached over 6 UFC athletes). Sholty BJJ: Started cross training with Murray Sholty , World Sambo & MMA Champion, and Northern BC’s true mixed martial arts expert. Submission Grappling: Trained at Kamloops Submission Academy with Professor Chad Belwood. Former Affiliation: Purple & Brown Belt stripes earned under Professor Don Whitefeild Delariva (West Coast Martial Arts Association).
🥊 Striking & Boxing +Muay Thai: Trained under Frank Lee, the most famous and original Muay Thai coach in Edmonton. Boxing: Trained for 2 years at the legendary Panthers Boxing (where all the most famous pros trained together) locally cross-trained with Wayne Sponagle. Trained closely with the Local Elite: Hosted and trained with Prince George’s best boxing coaches, Kenny and Jag Seerha , for over 7 years directly out of the Kaiten Dojo before they opened up their new gym Inner City PG.
🥋 Taekwondo & Wrestling 3rd Degree Black Belt in ITF Taekwondo under Master John Rousell. National Gold Medalist in continuous sparring divisions. Wrestling: Direct collaboration with award-winning Coach Dennis McCarthy (PG Wrestling Club). Our students and coaches cross-train to strengthen our grappling base. Kaiten wrestling had their own wrestling team in the school system. Coach Karm is proud to honour Coach Dennis as his number one wrestling influence in his life.

Served as a Martial Arts Instructor at CFB Edmonton, teaching unarmed combat and PT 3r battalion unarmed combat room Competitor: 3 Amateur MMA fights, including Co-Main Event at Rumble in the Cage (Lethbridge) and Extreme Fighting Challenge (Prince George).
